Shadows and Shifting Light

Light shifts, bends and breaks.
At once splintered, diffused, softened and magnified.

With every step and every second, it changes.
Across this constant edge of welcome stone.

Shadows chased, black burned into bright colors.
This dynamic wilderness of shadows and ever-shifting light.

Nahual The Shapeshifter

Recently I have spent a bit of time with a dog...

Nahual may be classified as an Australian Mini Shephard, but as his name suggests he is not your everyday dog...

Historically I am not a dog person. But borrowing this friend's dog recently has helped inspire in me a nascent awareness of a millennia's deep emotional connection and convergence within and between divergent species.

"Wolf society functions because of highly developed social responses, which include strict hierarchies, cooperative systems, and sophisticated communication skills."

"Taming an animal does not make it domesticated..."

"...as far as their mitochondrial DNA is concerned, dogs are virtually identical to wolves."
