Longs Peak and TailWinds feature...

TailWinds magazine just published a feature of mine on the Keyhole Route, a kind of how to for ascending Longs Peak. A fun publication that specializes in adventure travel and first person accounts out of Tucson Arizona. My next feature for them is on Patagonia! Wahoo!!! Check out the feature here.

Straddling the Divide...

The current TailWinds Magazine has my feature on climbing and ruminating high on the Continental Divide... Colorado has been a healing place, good for my soul and for recovery.

There have been some rough patches in the last few years for sure and finding my place among the mountains again has been crucial. It helped that the current issue of TailWinds had a wellness theme - timely!

I have missed the opportunities to guide and share booted trail and roped cliff-face with new and inspiring people as well. Colorado has given that back to me too. Today, a day off, I will explore a new trail with Maureen and find a little altitude, perspective and peace. Share smile, a laugh, the welcome burn in our legs and the endorphin buzz...

The article was very cathartic and an important personal piece for me to tease out of the fleeting hypoxic reveries...

Monument Valley Time Travel...

Tailwinds Magazine out of Tucson Arizona published another feature I wrote and shot and it is the current issue for July/August. This particular Tailwinds issue is horse-heavy, thus my article was on horseback riding in Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation... Tales from the weather wuss...

TailWinds Magazine out of Tucson has published quite a few articles of mine the last two years...

Sunglasses... Ahhhh.... 

The most recent is Three Sisters Ephiphany - Tales from the weather wuss on page 19. A fun ramble I put together about climate change/weather extremes - the differences faced two decades ago - to the challenges it poses to outdoor enthusiasts today - and perhaps the future. Or at least that's what I was aiming at...

Climbing partners past will attest to my penchant for quick escapes when lightning began crashing - or thunder was heard... Ok, ok - and maybe more than once they were just scary clouds...

An unabashed solar worshipper, I was happy to stand atop Tenochtitlan's Temple of the Sun and give my metaphoric sacrifice of a necklace of skulls to Tlaloc with the my arms raised as conduit between blessed sun and bluebird sky with the gaggle of new age crystal wavers. I am due for a recharge...

My next piece will be about a stumble through the Sespe Wilderness for their spring issue... or at least that's the intention if I can harness enough focus through the splintered haze of cold meds and D deficiency...
